Of Tears

...It had been so long since the last time my tears had dropped.

It feels so weird now for I could not cry...

Perhaps I have been holding up too much lately...

I hope by the time it really flows, it will not result flash flood.

Of Friendship

Having a friend is crucial for every individual. Even an animal needs to have a companion. However, friendship does not function like an employer-employee relationship. Friends do not have to sign a contract of service neither a contract for service between one another.

In my humble opinion, I believe there are boundaries between two individuals even if they are good friends.

Being a friend of another does not bind me to undertake any responsibilities and undertaking which I do not wish to partake. Albeit we are friends, there are times that we should give and take. Mere taking alone will result dissatisfaction and annoyance.

Just because one have tasks needed to be dealt with, it does not mean others must lend their hands, mind and feet. YOU need to understand that your friends might also have works or activities to be done.

Another notion to be considered is about asking for a request. Everyone has to realize the fact that when one proposes a request to a friend, it is not binding. So, if they refuse to help, respect their decision because they reserved the privilege to do so. Perhaps your siblings can endure your facial expression and slander, but most humans cannot.

Moreover, please acknowledge their effort with a sincere expression of gratitude when your friends are willing to help out.

There are also friends who like to take things for granted. This species tends to expect others to assist them. And the ridiculous part is when you have declined their behests, they will claim that you are not a friend or you are unlike his or her best buddy in Pluto. I positively recommend them to see a psychiatrist.

However, worst of all are the ones that expect friends to pay for them. They are like scoundrels because they tend to "forget" that they owe you money even though they are the ones that asked you to pay for them initially. Only god knows how such mindset can exist. Needless to say, when your friend paid for you when you are "unable" to pay, is it not the least you can do is to remember the favor ? Bloodsuckers.

All in all, for me, the definition for friendship is about two individuals having respect, understanding and appreciation between each other. So appreciate and respect your friends when they deserve it.

P/S: If you are miffed with this post, maybe you are the type that : (i) always expect your friends to oblige with your request; or (ii) always count on your friends to pay your bills; or (iii) you have a guilty conscience right now.

China: Student Mobility Program

It was decided by our respected Prof. Anisah that my upcoming mobility program, I will not be going to CUPL, Beijing. Instead I will be heading to:

Hunan University, Hunan

Although, I really wanted to visit CUPL but since our group is facing certain difficulties, thus, it's better to opt for a more appropriate option. Nevertheless, Hunan is too (Guilin 1st) famous for their landscape and scenery. I hope it will be breathtaking.

On the other note, I am done with two of my final papers (Criminal Law and Tort Law). The remaining papers will be Muamalat (Islamic Finance Law) and Intellectual Property Law. Pray for my best. I think I'm in trouble (considering the fact that I am still blogging right now). :'(

Notebook Charger.

Isn't it appalling and irritating when you have arrived in your dorm, after 2 hours and 45 minutes flight from your home town, realizing that you have forgotten to bring your notebook charge with you ?

That's basically how I felt last week.

I was deprived of internet usage for a week ! I can't blog and I have to surf Facebook using my phone. Such a painful period of time, especially when I couldn't remove tags from ugly pictures uploaded by idiotic friends at Facebook.

Luckily, a friend was able to bring it back for me. Now, I can officially announce that I can and will start blogging again.

P/S: Look forward to my upcoming posts.;)

A song to brighten up your day. Smile ;D

Jodie Connor - Now or Never (feat. Wiley)

Heard this song over the radio 2 days back. Stuck on my head since then. Check it out: Now or Never by Jodie Connor. She is a new singer from UK.

Now Or Never lyrics

I wanna be with you forever (ever, ever),
Baby me and you together (gether, gether),
I'll walk with you through stormy weather (weather, weather),
Me and you it's now or never (never, never),
You know I've always had a crush on you,
I'm pretty sure you feel the same way too,
Do you wanna be together (gether, gether),
Me and You it's now or never (never, never),
It's now or never, boy.

You got my heart,
Right from the start,
I can't get enough,
Could this be love?
I told you before,
I can't ignore,
I wanna know

When I'm around you, baby,
I can never shake this,
Feelin' that comes over me,
You know that I'll be right here, baby,
They can say I'm crazy,
But I know I'm meant to be.

Can't take no more,
I'm ready to go,
You already know,
You stay on my mind,
It's got to be,
Just you and me,
So you can see

When I'm around you, baby,
I can never shake this,
Feelin' that comes over me,
You know that I'll be right here, baby,
They can say I'm crazy,
But I know I'm meant to be.

Met her on a Friday,
Spoke on a Sunday.
She said I'm the one she liked,
Now we're the wrong way.
Ain't coming back for a while,
Will return one day. (Jodie: One day).
Buy a big house in the country,
We'll do somethin'.
Give her the real good lovin',(Jodie: Lovin').
Just the way that she likes it, (Jodie: Likes it).
I see her in my future, (Jodie: I see you in my future).
I got the vision of a phsycic.
She don't drive me mad,
She gotta good heart I'm glad.
Can't see it ever being over (over, over, over).

It's now or never, boy.
It's now or never boy.

Great Food at Luna Bar

Following the previous post (Vivian's Birthday), this post is about great foods I had at Luna Bar. I had a cocktail - Men are from Mars. It was chocolaty. Definitely not a drink for grown-ups.

Men are from Mars.

We ordered meatballs too. It was succulent and tasty, though, it might looked the opposite.

The best food we had was the cheesy tacos. Albeit the tacos were cheap crackers that can easily be bought from supermarkets, the dish was fantabulous. Love the cheese.

Cheesy Tacos.

Vivian had the Women are from Venus. It was strawberry-flavored.

Lastly, pizzas. The pizzas here are certainly tastier than pizzas from Pizza's Hut.

Luna Bar's Pizza.
Are you hungry now ? ;)

Dear Journal,

Have you ever felt your life has lost it's are caught in a web of nothingness, wondering what to look forward too.

As if life no longer has any purpose to be continued. All you wanted to do is to stop thinking and sleep forever.

It's depression.

Depression was never in my dictionary. Since young, I am always the half-full boy that ambitiously aims to conquer the world. I'd never dwelt in self-pity before.

... And out of the blue, I was struck with emptiness. My feeling of depression was horrible. I was lost. I kept thinking and rethinking the purpose of me existing in this world. At one point, I was pretty convinced that my own brain was trying to kill me.

It lasted for around 2 weeks.

Although I can't identify what had helped me to recover but, personally, I felt the time I spent with my friends did assist in releasing my mind from unnecessary thoughts. I ate a lot of good food too, e.g., ice-creams.

Banana Split !

During my depression, Japan was hit by tsunami and earthquakes. When I saw the pictures of the calamity, I appreciate my life a little bit better. It made me realize that my life is much better off than a loads of people. For the very least, I have a bed to snuggle in and a blanket to keep me warm.

Japan's Blight. | Source:

With all the tiny incidents I've experienced, I'm glad that I am no longer depressed. I do hope this post can reach out to those who are currently depressed. Live your life y'all !

For more guidances:

1. Focus your life in the present rather then envisioning the future.

2.Take a walk at the park or somewhere with great scenery.

3. Find a new interest. *Blogging ;)*

4. Do whatever it takes to occupy your mind,e.g., watch your favorite drama or movie, read a book, exercise and etc.

5. If there is a reason behind your depression, take it positively. Though, you might not be able to solve it, try to embrace it and move on.

Majestic morning scenery from my room.

Vivian's 22nd Birthday Celebration !

Peninsular Malaysia: On 27th of March 2011, it had finally been proven that the story of the ugly duckling is just another fantasy. After 22 years, Vivian Wong the test subject still remains the same. Disappointingly, she from an ugly duckling matured into an ugly duck. Billions of people are now devastated as they are unable to accept that they will remain ugly for the rest of their lives.

I kid.

It' Vivian Wong Shir Yee's 22nd Birthday y'all !

Vivian is a childhood friend of mine. We have known each other for more than 10 years. *dread*. Last Saturday, I went to Kelana Jaya just to celebrate her big day. My birthday present was simple: an "Angpow" !

My red pocket with her.

That day, we journeyed all the way from Kelana Jaya to Seremban for lunch. Vivian the giantess insisted to feast upon seafood. So we had squid, clams and 4kg of crabs.

During the lunch, Rachel was starkly hopeless. She barely touched any food at all. However, I salute Jaye for her amazing appetite. She had the same amount of crabs that Vivian and I had. Anyway, the meal was amazing.Totally love the crabs !

Fellow Crab Eaters (minus Rachel).

The Lunch.

We finished the lunch around 4.30pm (too many crabs). Then, we moved to Luna Bar, KL. The place was awesome and the view was remarkable. Moreover, it was Earth Hour Day, so we managed to catch a glimpse of Malaysians' environmental awareness and it was disheartening. Lights were mostly turned on. Nonetheless, we were able to eye Am Bank's environmental consciousness:

Before Earth Hour.

During Earth Hour.

Overall, the day was very tiring but I would say it was worth it. I went all the way back to UKM, Bangi at 1 am+.

More Pictures at Luna Bar:

Second round of food with Rachel and Laura.

A view of KL.

Vivian's Birthday Cake.

Luna Bar's swimming pool.

I'm the thorn among the roses. (I bet some would beg to differ)

KL Tower from Lunar Bar :)

To Vivian,

All the best to you my idiotic bestie, now and in future.

A picture to remind of us.

Jogoya Lunch Buffet Promotion

This Wednesday afternoon, we (Myself, Seow Hui, Seok Kee and Yah Chee) went to Jogoya for lunch. Currently, Jogoya is having a lunch/supper promotion until 27th of April 2011. They are charging two person for the price of one. Including tax and service charge, I approximately paid RM 46 for the lunch buffet.

The Promotion

At Jogoya , there is a plethora of foods that would satisfy your appetite. To describe all the foods there, I might have to spend hours just to list them down. Personally, I find the pastas were tasty especially the Chicken Bolognese.

For sushi lovers, there is a variety of sushis to choose from. Make sure you grab a lot of Unagi-Sushi (often out of supply). For Auntie-auntie, the variation of abalone and oyster servings would definitely make your saliva drool.

Ice cream freaks would find themselves in paradise as Jogoya serves Haagen-Dazs and New Zealand Natural. Because of Haagen-Dazs, I had over-looked the Chocolate Fondue and Bread and Butter Pudding. (Sorry !)

Haagen-Dazs Ice-creams

That afternoon, I spent an hour for appetizers and meals with another hour for desserts. Although, it was only two hours, I was surfeited. No matter how much I am addicted to ice cream, after the third serving, I could only stand in front of the Haagen Dazs counter and stare.

We had to walk around Starhill just to improve digestion. All in all, it was a pleasurable buffet. So, for those who are interested, strike while the deal is still there. Or else, you would have to pay the full amount of RM 78++.

More Pictures:

Me starting the buffet with oysters and sushis.

Me and Seok Kee.

Me and Seow Hui. She likes the Green Tea Ice-cream *urgh*.

Tiramisu and friends.

More Ice-cream and cakes.

From left to right: Curry Chicken, Abalone, Oyster, Mussels and Unagi Sushi.
Not forgetting the coconut, it was refreshing !

Of Blood, Stitches and Slippers

UKM: The last last Thursday was the darkest day of my life. I was star-crossed to the extent that I paid Hospital Kajang a visit. *groan*. The disastrous day started with me having fever in the morning. I was not bothered because I do not usually fuss about consuming antibiotics and whatnot when it comes to minor illnesses. I believe common ailments can drill our immune system.

Consequently, at night, I decided to play badminton in order to sweat the fever away. After few hours, I went back to take my shower at midnight. But the water was so cold that I had to boil some hot water.

The bath with hot water was fantastic but it made me dizzier. In dizziness, I did not realize the metal cover for the drainage hole was opened and I kicked on it. Thereafter, all hell broke loose. I was bleeding incessantly that the bathroom, the corridor and my room were like murder scenes.

A visit from Jack the Ripper

Luckily, Manfred (my hero) was able to send me to Hospital Kajang. I had 4 stitches in between my toes. The surgery was so painful that I screamed like a banshee. Nurses and patients thought I was being possessed. When I got back to my college, thank goodness that my floormates had washed the blood stains outside of my room. But I still had to mop and wipe my room by myself at three in the morning. *sigh*

Moreover, I was obliged to go to the ALSA Leader Summit on Saturday as I was the Director for Food and Beverages. I had to wear slacks and slippers to the formal event."You look like a canteen uncle" said Afiq. My look was a fashion disaster and I had to limp for the whole day. *mourn*

Very informal >8(

iPad 2

I'm fully aware that my current Toshiba notebook is perfectly fine but I just can't take my eyes off 'her'. My desire for an iPad 2 at the moment is comparable to a women wanting for the latest Louis Vuitton clutch or like a teen girl yearning for Justin Bieber .*tee-hee*

iPad 2

In addition to all the new features, the tablet only weighs around 600 grams.Visualize ourselves no longer have to carry a bulky notebook along with a charger every time we walk out from our room or better still we can use it to escape from lifeless conversations and vapid lectures. Furthermore, the iPad 2 can be used to do assignments and presentations via its multi-touch screen. *saliva drooling*. Y'all, take a break from an actual keyboard !

Sadly, the launching date for iPad 2 in Malaysia hasn't been confirmed yet *mourn*. Also with my current financial status perhaps I would have to whore myself to obtain one during my student exchange program at Beijing this May. Any takers? Lol.

Speechless :O~

Law Night 2011

Petaling Jaya: UKM's Faculty of Law managed to held their annual dinner event - Law Night 2011 at Hotel Singgahsana. Contrary to the theme of "Malam Anugerah Chenta", the evening was neither filled with love and affection but rather vanity of dinner-goers taking pictures at every-single-corner-in-the-hotel. *blushing*

"I'm so hungry that I'm going to faint" said the desperate Ms. Hong Pin Yin. Even though the food was horrendous but due to the brilliant planning of serving dinner at 9pm, the food became unobjectionable as everyone managed to chew and swallow whatever edible material served on the table.(Pictures of food are unavailable as it might cast temporary blindness upon whoever sees it)

Sky juice and tea were the best options for drinks compare to the Singgahsana Mixed Fruit Sirap (the SMFS). The SMFS was so punchy that tongues could no longer detect taste. I implore the Health Ministry to do something about the SMFS. *a permanent ban will do*

Anyway, applauses and cheers for all the performances especially to the John Chan's magic show. Kidding. He and the gang (Aliff, Bulat, Sapawi and Afiq Nazrin) pulled off a spectacular live band performance ! With songs like "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars", tears rolled down from everyone's cheek. Kidding once again. I meant songs like "I Wanna Hold Your Hands" by the Beatles and etc.

According to unknown sources (Denise, Choon Ming and Fui Yen), the band spent a lot of time practicing before the dinner and we can definitely say their efforts did not go in vain as everyone gave them a standing ovation. Rock stars in the making y'all !

Evaluating the evening holistically, it can be said successful. The hotel was not as creepy and crappy as most of us thought it would be. Since I left early so I can't really tell what had happened after that but I'm guessing the event ended at midnight with smiles and laughters. :D

Research Paper

Splendid news ! Law students from UKM will have to produce a research paper in year three. Though, it was once optional but recently our faculty makes it compulsory beginning from my batch. *tears of joy*

However, at the moment when I optimistically wanted to take this as an opportunity to hone my writing skills in English, we were told to write our mini thesis in BM because we have to be proud of our national language. *a slap on the face*

Seriously? We have to read law bilingually for 4 years and to further demonstrate our love and pride in BM, we have to write our research paper in BM ? If the faculty is doubting our capability to write in English then they should be frank. Giving lame excuse as aforementioned will not hide the cynicism and distrust.

Bah ! No use crying over spilled milk. Anyhow, I've made up my mind on what to do. I'm going to do a research on contract law particularly about economic duress. Wish me luck, y'all ! :)

It's heartbreaking to see Japan in such a devastating state. More than 10,000 lives had perished and few hundred thousands people have to be evacuated due to the meltdown of nuclear plants in Fukushima . Furthermore, it was also said that this is the costliest disaster ever as total losses could exceed $100 billion. *my prayers and wishes are with people of Japan*

Surprisingly, this sudden disaster makes me realize life is unpredictable and extremely vulnerable. Our lives appear to be subjected to the whims of "someone". Until this moment, life seems no longer in the control of our hand as we cannot fathom when our lives will be taken away. Becoming aware of all these, I understand that living the moment is the utmost consideration. Hence, live as if everyday is the last day of our lives and appreciate the people around us.

If courage can be picked up like a quarter on the street. I wouldn't mind striding the streets all day. It's hard to breathe when one doesn't have the courage. The courage to face the music, the courage to speak up or simply the courage to be yourself. Albeit, I might appear audacious and candid, there is a small fragment in me that is still wrapped in insecurity and I hate this.

Because I can so I must.

Everyone is born different. True. Some might have the leader look and some don't. For some reason, I'm being labelled with the former. I don't know why, maybe because I'm smarter than the bunch ? or perhaps I can undertake obligations which some people "cannot do". I just don't know.

However, it sets me ablaze to see nonchalant louts telling me I should do this I must do that simply because the fact that I could. Though we might be different (the fact that I'm smarter and you're dumber) it doesn't grant you the right to rub your duties on my face. I'm not your slave. I don't take things granted like you do. I might be capable of doing it doesn't mean you can sit back and enjoy the show. You bunch of whiners.

It's amusing to see friends who wish to succeed in the future and yet unwilling to put in the effort to climb the ladder of success. You can say whatever you wish to say but mere saying alone is no more than a scentless fart, you can hear it but never experience it.

I wasn't born with ability to speak when I came out from my mother's stomach (Caesarean section). I learned to speak. I can do whatever you're incapable of doing is for the reason that I've learned from doing it previously. Not due to my 'Einstein' brain nor magical blessings from dear Fairy Godmother. The fact that you'd been acknowledge by the government to be worthy enough to study law in Malaysia shows that you are at least the better ones in the cohort

You entered law school to be a professional. Not "Mat Lepaks nor Ms. Waiting-to-be-the-next-Datin". Hence, have self-respect,stop walking with your tail between your legs and do something about yourself.

Dear Journal

Crap, it has been such a long time since I last blogged.

Dear Journal,

Sorry, as I have been too engrossed with my life.

Nway, I managed to fulfill one of my resolutions for 2011 : Mooting. It was an inter-faculty mooting competition but nonetheless, we (me and Faelly) managed to snatch first place. It was unexpected since we didn't prepare much for it. Definitely, lady luck was smiling at us. And this gives us the chance to join for Lawasia Mooting Competition in July. I am still pondering about participating.

I have lost my monstrous appetite due to the New Year's Eve Buffet dinner I had with Alexis. Now, I can only consume like an ordinary guy. *eww*. Nonetheless, I can never get enough of Baskin Robin's ice cream. Addicted. :)

Am uncouth, a boor and upright as usual. In the process of transforming. Sooner or later, everyone will see a humbler, gentler and kinder version of Jeremy. *though I doubt 'he' will be called Jeremy*

Warmest Regards,

Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success.

-Bryan Adams

Patience indeed is the greatest virtue of all. Whom has patience usually possesses other great virtues. I have least amount of patience. When hunger and weariness appear, they loosen the grip on that tiny patience of mine. Thereupon, anger and impatience would come into sight. Friends scattered. Lest, what I ask for is nothing more that a small drop of patience from you, God. It's enough for me not to be "me".

Bungee Jump

I felt like I was plunging the moment I stepped into the faculty. There were books and assignments, presentations and obligations which were thrown upon me, making the plunge seemingly unfamiliar. And the funny thing is that my plunge seems endless, unless if I was bungee jumping. If the safety lines decided to break, I would fall to my death. But this, this is out of my hands, something I cannot stop nor slow down. And I am somehow beginning to like falling into this unknown depth.

-Denise Khoo
